1956 Fender Pro Amp Tweed 5E5-B – Narrow Panel
We present an original 1956 Fender Pro Amplifier Tweed 5E5-B – Narrow Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.
History
This 1956 “Pro-Amp” is one of the most powerful amplifiers of the mid-1950s. The tone is deep and lush — unlike any other amp from this period — and it shades into a massive roar when pushed into overdrive.
Condition
Overall, this Fender amplifier is graded in excellent condition. It is stock with its original 15″ Jensen speaker, which has been reconed. This unit was wired by Lupe in March 1956. Her masking tape tag is still intact, and the tube chart stamp is clean as well. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed is in extremely clean condition. The tweed covering is particularly well-preserved, with original nailed-in feet and even the original leather handle.
The chrome control plate is clean, and the lettering are perfectly intact.
Originality
This historical ’56 Pro Amp features the original 5E5-B circuit and has been serviced with some new capacitors and resistors so it runs perfectly. It features vintage big-bottle NOS tubes bearing 1956 date codes. A newer 2-prong power cable has been installed.
To keep it as original as possible, you’ll need a step-down transformer if you’re based in Europe. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
