1956 Fender Tremolux Amp Tweed 5E9 – Narrow Panel
We present an original 1956 Fender Tremolux Amp Tweed 5E9 – Narrow Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.
This Tweed amplifier is one of the most tonally distinctive and sweet-sounding amps from Fender’s 1950s “Narrow Panel” Tweed era. The Tremolux combines tonal richness and a dynamic, touch-sensitive circuit with a bias-based, footswitchable tremolo. A larger open-back cabinet gives the Tremolux deeper tone, enhanced low end, and overall roundness.
The chassis is clean, and the chrome control plate is in excellent condition, along with the stock ‘chicken-head’ knobs. It features a newer handle and new metal handle ends (the original handle and handle ends are included). Both transformers are original. A new prong power cord, two pots, capacitors, and resistors have been installed, ensuring it runs flawlessly.
The original Alnico Jensen P12Q 12″ speaker is in perfect condition and sounds fantastic. The original lacquered tweed covering is intact, showing light ambering, minor scuffs, and other cosmetic wear. The original oxblood grill cloth is tight, with a small burn hole (nothing of concern). It even includes the original and rare woody footswitch.
The original tube chart is present and very clean, with crisp corners and a hand-inked serial number.
To keep it as original as possible, a stepdown transformer is required. These are available in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
