1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior – Sunburst
We present an original 1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
History
This incredible ’56 Les Paul Junior comes directly from the widow of the original owner. He purchased the guitar back in 1956, along with a ’56 Magnatone Varsity Deluxe Model 108 amp. The amp has been professionally restored and serviced by the best amp tech in Denmark. It’s included with the guitar as a set — we simply couldn’t separate them after so many years.
Condition
This vintage Gibson is in exceptionally clean condition — near mint. Truly a needle in a haystack to find one this well-preserved. There are minor nicks, dings, scratches, and other light cosmetic wear. The original 1-piece mahogany body is lightweight and features a 1-piece mahogany neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fretboard and dot inlays. The original Sunburst finish is stunning and has barely faded over the years. The original frets and nut are in great shape with plenty of life left.
Originality
This exceptional ’56 Les Paul Junior is completely original, except for new tuner buttons — replaced because the original buttons had crumbled, which is very common. The tuners themselves are still original. Otherwise, the guitar is exactly as it left the Kalamazoo factory in 1956. The original P-90 pickup sounds fantastic and is completely untouched. It features the original aluminum lightweight wraparound tailpiece and original gold knobs.
The pickup and electronics/wiring remain untouched and fully intact—no broken solder joints, no rewound pickup. All original and correct.
