1958 Martin D-18 – Natural
We present an all original 1958 C.F. Martin D-18 in its original Natural finish. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
In 1958, Martin Dreadnoughts were among the most sought-after flat-top guitars in the world, widely considered the industry standard. Only 976 D-18s were produced that year, and many were played extensively for years — or even decades. The D-18 and its sibling, the D-28, were top choices among professional Country & Western musicians and remain highly regarded today for their versatility across a wide range of musical styles.
This guitar is in near-mint condition, showing only a few minor dings on the top. The frets are in excellent shape with minimal wear. It plays beautifully, with a comfortable action and a rich, evenly balanced tone that’s both powerful and nuanced. Remarkably, it has never had a neck reset, nor has it suffered any breaks or repairs. A truly outstanding example that has been meticulously preserved over the decades — exceptionally rare in this condition, especially coming from the original owner. The original natural lacquer finish remains in pristine condition. Features include a stunning spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a one-piece mahogany neck.
Includes the original hardshell case, case key, and original robe strap. All latches and the handle are fully functional and in perfect working order.
