We present an original 1959 Fender Champ amplifier tweed 5F1 – Narrow Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.
This beauty is simple, elegant and clean enough to satisfy collectors and serious players. This vintage Champ boasts its original lacquered tweed and hallowed 5F1 circuit. It doesn’t get much more pure than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers freakishly dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that can go from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single knob.
The Champ has been well cared for over the decades and is stocked with the original Oxford 8″ speaker and circuit has just been serviced with new quality filter capacitor and some resistors so it can run perfectly.
The preamp retains the original yellow Astron tone capacitors. Both transformers are original, and the chassis itself boasts an extremely clean chrome faceplate with all of the original white silkscreen lettering. The original gray two-prong power cable is still installed as well. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed has ambered considerably, with some minor scuffs and wear around the lower right corner on the face. Overall, the tweed looks particularly great and uniformly aged, with original nailed in feet and even the original leather handle! Overall, this is in great condition.
