Description & Specifications

1959 Fender Champ Amplifier Tweed 5F1 – Narrow Panel

We present an original 1959 Fender Champ amplifier tweed 5F1 – Narrow Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.

This beauty is simple, elegant, and clean enough to satisfy collectors and serious players. This vintage Fender Champ amplifier features its original lacquered tweed covering and the revered 5F1 circuit. It doesn’t get much more pure than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers exceptionally dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that can go from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single knob.

The Champ has been well cared for over the decades and is equipped with the original Oxford 8″ speaker. The circuit has just been serviced with a new quality filter capacitor and some resistors, ensuring it runs perfectly.

The preamp retains the original yellow Astron tone capacitors. Both transformers are original, and the chassis itself features an extremely clean chrome faceplate with all the original white silkscreen lettering. The original gray two-prong power cable is still installed. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed has ambered considerably, with some minor scuffs and wear around the lower right corner on the face. Overall, the tweed looks particularly great and uniformly aged, with the original nailed-in feet and even the original leather handle. Overall, this is in great condition.

To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
