Description & Specifications

1959 Fender Jazzmaster – Sunburst

We present an original 1959 Fender Jazzmaster in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Fullerton, California.

This pre-CBS Fender Jazzmaster is all original except for a professional refret and a newly handcrafted bone nut. Cosmetically, the guitar is in excellent condition, with minor nicks, dings, and general play wear. There are a few areas of notable wear down to the bare alder body. The beautifully shaped C-profile maple neck and headstock face are as clean as can be. It features a dark rosewood slab board with clay dots.

The guitar is powerful, resonant, and extremely versatile—everything you would expect from an instrument built during Fender’s golden age.

One broken solder joint has been repaired on the body cavity shield. This is a common issue, especially when new foam is added to adjust pickup height—the joint under the neck pickup is particularly prone to breaking. We’ve documented the repair here at Guitar Hunter with updated photos.

Otherwise, the pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—no broken solder joints, no rewound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes complete with its original hardshell case. The latches and handle are in perfect working order.
