We present an original and 100% complete 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard – Sunburst “Burst”. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This is an outstanding and 100% untouched holy grail 1959 “Burst”. To find an all original and untouched Les Paul Standard from the most sought after year 1959, is more and more finding a needle in a haystack. This guitar is definitely an eye-catcher in every sense.

This guitar has never been officially for sale on the market. Furthermore this Burst is not even listed on burstserial.com – the serial number before and after this one is listed, but not this one. Now you have the chance to get it registered on burstserial.com.

Condition

Condition wise, this guitar is in excellent condition with no breaks or any repairs. It has got a good amount of beautiful finish checking all over the body and neck, as well as some nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear that you would expect from a 65 year old guitar. Nothing has ever been changed! The original cherry sunburst finish has faded in such a gorgeous way, where there is still shades of cherry at the upper bout and edge of the guitar. Overall it’s in really clean condition.

The most breathtaking aspect of this guitar is without a doubt the crazy flamed maple top – at some spots it almost looks like quilted maple. Truly one of the most beautiful Les Paul tops we’ve ever seen. It features a 1-piece mahogany body, 1-piece mahogany neck, dark rosewood fingerbord with trapezoid celluloid inlays. The original Kluson tuners turns and works perfectly and still features the original tuner buttons, which incredibly enough are all intact and works great and hasn’t shrunken yet like some can do over time. All the nickel hardware are clean with some wear. The original four butyrate gold top hats knobs are clean and turns nicely.

The headstock of this incredible guitar is really clean – the ‘Gibson’ celluloid inlay is intact. The ‘Les Paul Model’ silkscreen is incredibly enough fully visible and clean, which is pretty rare on Bursts. The guitar features the original nut and frets, which still has a lot of life left in them.

Originality

This 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard is 100% all original and untouched – Every single screw and parts are original to the guitar. It’s exactly like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in ’59. It features the two original double-white P.A.F (Patent Applied For) humbuckers that sound incredible and powerful. They are very well balanced. The pickups are 100% undisturbed and the “Patent Applied For” decal under both pickups are clean as they can be. The control cavity and the toggle switch cavity are undisturbed and 100% factory stock.

The pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.

Comes complete with its original Brown hardshell Case with pink interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
