1960 Gibson ES-355 TDC Mono – Cherry
We present an all original and early 1960 Gibson ES-355 TDC Mono in its original Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This rare vintage guitar is in excellent condition, with minor fading spots and other cosmetic wear. The original gold hardware has aged beautifully over the years, giving it a distinctive vintage look. What makes this 355 so unique is the factory Mono wiring instead of the standard Stereo Varitone. The beautifully figured double-cutaway maple body highlights the craftsmanship of this rare hollowbody electric guitar. It comes equipped with a rare pair of P.A.F. “Patent Applied For” humbucking pickups. These pickups sound amazing — strong, well-balanced, and completely original. They are untouched and remain factory stock. The oval orange label is clean and intact, with the handwritten ES-355 designation.
This model features a 1-piece 1959 mahogany neck profile, an ebony fingerboard with block inlays and binding. It also includes body binding, gold hardware, and the classic split-diamond headstock inlay. The original Cherry finish has aged into a stunning watermelon hue. The original frets are in great shape, along with the original nylon nut. The original Pat. Pending Grover tuners work perfectly and turn smoothly. Just a perfect ES-355 that every collector and player desires.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just as it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1960.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and fully intact—no broken solder joints, no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original brown Gibson hardshell case with pink lining. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
