Description & Specifications

1961 Fender Bassman 6G6-A – White/Maroon

We present an original 1961 Fender Bassman 6G6-A in White / Maroon. Made in Fullerton, California.

This Fender 6G6-A Bassman “piggyback” amp – official Hagström import – features a 220-volt power transformer. The head is dated 1961, and the duo of Oxford 12M6 12” speakers in the sealed cabinet are dated 1962. This Bassman, with its rare combination of white tolex and maroon grille, was only produced for a short period and looks stunning. It is in very fine condition, with a few blemishes expected from an amp of this age and a minor cut in the grille cloth on the front of the speaker cabinet.

The 6G6-A circuit is highly sought after for its unique, crunchy overdrive tone that bridges the gap between the classic “American” and “British” amp sounds. When pushed into breakup, the amp delivers plenty of low-mid chunk while still maintaining the individual note clarity that defines the signature Fender tone.

Freshly and fully serviced, it is ready to be played.
