1961 Fender Jazzmaster – Blond
We present an all original 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in its original Blond finish, made in Fullerton, California.
This guitar is powerful, resonant, and extremely versatile—everything you’d expect from an instrument crafted during Fender’s golden era. From sparkling, twangy tones in the bridge position to woolly, complex sounds at the neck, this Jazzmaster offers a distinct and usable voice in every setting. Engage the often-overlooked (and infinitely cool) Rhythm Circuit and you unlock an entirely new palette of darker tones—originally intended for jazz players who never quite embraced the model, but which truly shine through an overdriven tube amp.
Cosmetically, the guitar shows light “buckle rash” on the back, along with various nicks and dings on the front and sides. There are a few areas of notable wear down to the bare wood, and a collection of small scratches and marks on the back. The original Blond finish has aged into a warm, yellowed hue. The neck profile and headstock face are exceptionally clean. It features a beautifully dark rosewood slab fingerboard with clay dot inlays.
The original black-bottom pickups are well-balanced, strong, and sound incredible. New foam has been added beneath the pickups to allow for proper height adjustment. The original frets still have plenty of life left. The tremolo arm is a period-correct early ’60s original, though not the one the guitar was born with.
Pickups and electronics remain completely untouched and intact—no broken solder joints, no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Includes the original Fender brown hardshell case with yellow interior. The latches and handle are in perfect working condition.
