Description & Specifications

1961 Fender Jazzmaster – Sunburst

We present an all original 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in a Sunburst finish, made in Fullerton, California.

Condition

Cosmetically, this 1961 Pre-CBS Jazzmaster is in excellent and clean condition, with only minor nicks, dings, and light cosmetic wear on the front and sides. The neck profile and headstock face are exceptionally clean. Features a beautifully dark rosewood slab board with clay dot inlays. The original frets have been dressed, with plenty of life remaining. A stunning Fender Jazzmaster that both plays and sounds fantastic.

Originality

The guitar is 100% original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1961. The original black-bottom pickups are strong and well-balanced. New foam has been added under the pickups, allowing for proper height adjustment—common practice, as the original foam tends to harden over time. This is typical for Jazzmasters and Jaguars. Comes complete with its original bridge cover and tremolo arm.

Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.

Includes its original Fender brown hardshell case with yellow interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
