1962 Gibson Les Paul SG Junior – Cherry
We present an all original 1962 Gibson Les Paul SG Junior in Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
For your consideration, this is a Gibson Les Paul Junior featuring the SG body shape. This vintage Gibson guitar has a solid mahogany body with beveled edges, a one-piece mahogany neck, and a dark rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. Overall, this Junior is in stunning condition with only a few nicks, dings, and minor cosmetic play wear.
This 1962 Gibson guitar features a headstock with the gold silk-screened “Gibson” logo and “Les Paul Junior” text. It is stamped “factory second” on the back of the headstock. It has Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with original white plastic oval buttons. The two-layer (black over white) laminated plastic pickguard, mounted with eight screws, has naturally shrunken over time.
Two controls (one volume, one tone) are located on the lower treble bout. It includes black plastic bell-shaped knobs with white markings and the original compensated wrap-around tailpiece. Overall, this is a great-playing, wonderful-sounding vintage guitar in excellent condition. The original frets are in fantastic shape with plenty of life left. It retains the original and truly beautiful cherry finish, which looks absolutely stunning.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1962.
The pickup and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All original and correct.
Comes with its original chipboard case. The handle is broken, but the latches are in perfect working order.
