1962 Gibson SG Special – Polaris White
We present an all original 1962 Gibson SG Special in its original Polaris White finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This SG Special is all original. It has wraparound tail piece, bound rosewood fretboard, 2 x “3 on a stripe” Kluson tuners. There is so much resonance in this 1-piece / lightweight mahogany body. It’s incredibly lively and clear acoustically. The original Polaris White finish is still strong and is extremely rare to come across.
The Gibson P-90’s pickup sound amazing and are well balanced. They are absolutely roar and can deliver everything from glassy, articulate cleans to growling heavy overdrive with ease. The 1-piece neck with the nut width 1 11/16 is a joy to play. Overall it’s in beautiful shape with very minor nicks, dings and other cosmetic play wear.
Back in the 60’s a high-end Gibson hardshell case was an option when you bought a guitar. Normally chipboard cases were more common, because you could safe money. But here the most valuable original case offered with this SG Special.
Comes with its original Gibson black exterior with plush yellow interior. The original latches and handle are also perfect and intact.
All pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
- Neck pickup: 8.24 kOhm.
