Description & Specifications

1963 Fender Jazzmaster – Olympic White

We present an original 1963 Fender Jazzmaster in its custom color Olympic White finish, complete with matching headstock. Made in Fullerton, California.

History

This Pre-CBS 1963 Fender Jazzmaster comes from the original owner in Colorado. It’s a very special guitar, complete with all the premium features.

Condition

Overall, this incredible Pre-CBS Jazzmaster is in very good+ condition, showing typical nicks, dings, and other cosmetic wear. No breaks or repairs. There are a few small spots on the back and sides of the body where the finish has worn down to the bare wood, revealing the original Desert Sand undercoat.

The original Olympic White finish retains a strong, vibrant color—typical of early Fender custom color finishes. In the early days, Fender used a thinner clear coat, and some Olympic White examples had no clear coat at all, unlike later Pre-CBS and CBS-era models. The original frets and nut are in good condition with plenty of life left. The original tortoiseshell pickguard is clean and intact, with no cracks. Features include an alder body and a beautifully straight maple neck with a dark rosewood fretboard and clay dot inlays. The decal is clean and intact.

Originality

This Pre-CBS ’63 Jazzmaster is all original, just as it left the Fullerton factory in 1963, with the exception of one period-correct single-line Kluson tuner replacing a broken original. The two original black-bottom pickups are well-balanced and sound fantastic. Tonally, it’s powerful, resonant, and extremely versatile—everything you’d expect from a guitar built during Fender’s golden age. A truly exceptional Jazzmaster.

The pickups and electronics/wiring are untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and 100% correct.

Comes complete with the original white Fender hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
