1963 Fender Stratocaster – Inca Silver Metallic
We present an original 1963 Fender Stratocaster in its original Inca Silver Metallic finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
History
This exceptional custom-color pre-CBS ’63 Fender Stratocaster is one of the rarest finds from that year. Part of a private collection for decades, it represents a true time capsule, showcasing the beauty and character of Fender’s golden age. One of the most desirable custom colors from 1963 and extremely hard to find.
Condition
Overall, this Stratocaster is in excellent original condition with natural cosmetic wear, including belt-buckle wear where the Desert Sand undercoat shows through. Minor finish checking and wear add to its vintage charm, but mechanically and structurally it is flawless. At some point the original owner applied their mail letter stickers to the mint green pickguard, but was removed a long time ago, leaving only a light trace on the pickguard. The original Inca Silver Metallic finish really pops and has naturally aged over the years giving the color a slightly more green-ish look. It all adds up to the beautiful and amazing character of the guitar.
It plays incredibly well, with so much resonance even when played unplugged — absolutely a killer guitar. The headstock and decal remain clean, and the dark rosewood fingerboard shows beautifully with clay dots. Some “mojo” spots of play wear on the back of the neck add character, and the original frets still have plenty of life left.
Originality
This 1963 Inca Silver Metallic Stratocaster is 100% original throughout, except for a newer nut. Otherwise it’s exactly like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1963. No breaks or any repairs — simply an extremely exceptional example. It retains its original tremolo arm and bridge cover, as well as the three black-bottom single-coil pickups, which are strong and well-balanced. The six original Kluson single-line tuners are intact, clean, and turn smoothly.
Electronics and wiring are untouched, with no broken solder joints or rewound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
Comes with its original white tolex hardshell case, with latches and handle in perfect working order.
