1963 Fender Vibroverb-Amp 6G16 – Brownface
We present an original 1963 Fender Vibroverb-Amp 6G16 – Brownface. Made in Fullerton, California.
This is indeed a very special and rare Fender Amplifier model. It was introduced in February of 1963 and was the first Fender amp to incorporate Reverb and Vibrato. Produced in this configuration for a year and it is estimated that only around 200-300 units were produced making it a very rare amplifier from the Fender catalogue.
Condition
Overall this pre-CBS amplifier is in excellent condition. The original brown tolex is pristine with minimal signs of wear. The face plate is as clean as can be, where all the writing is clearly visible and have barely faded at all. The brown grill cloth is in stunning condition with few spots wear but overall pretty clean.
Originality
This incredible amp features the original 6G16-circuit. The 2x original Fender Oxford 10″ speakers are original and sound amazing. All the tranformers are original as well and even the 2-prong cord is original.
It has been serviced with some new capacitors and resistors so it can run perfectly.
To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter: Toroidy Step-Down Transformer 230V/110V – 200VA
