1963 Fender Vibroverb-Amp 6G16 – Brownface
We present an original 1963 Fender Vibroverb-Amp 6G16 – Brownface. Made in Fullerton, California.
This is indeed a very special and rare Fender amplifier model. It was introduced in February of 1963 and was the first Fender amp to incorporate reverb and vibrato. Produced in this configuration for only one year, it is estimated that around 200–300 units were made, making it a very rare amplifier in the Fender catalog.
Condition
Overall, this pre-CBS amplifier is in excellent condition. The original brown tolex is pristine with minimal signs of wear. The faceplate is as clean as can be, with all writing clearly visible and barely faded. The brown grill cloth is in stunning condition with a few spots of wear, but overall quite clean.
Originality
This incredible amp features the original 6G16 circuit. The 2x original Fender Oxford 10″ speakers are intact and sound amazing. All transformers are original, and even the 2-prong power cord is the original.
It has been serviced with some new capacitors and resistors, allowing it to run perfectly.
To keep it as original as possible, you’ll need a step-down transformer. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
