1963 Gibson ES-335 TDC – Cherry – Factory Bigsby
We present an all original, early 1963 Gibson ES-335 TDC in Cherry finish with factory Bigsby. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This historic instrument comes directly from the family of the original owner. Overall, it is in near mint condition, showing only minor cosmetic wear. The beautifully figured laminated double-cutaway maple body features a factory “Custom Made” plaque on the top.
There are no breaks or repairs on this Gibson semi-hollow body. As an early 1963 model, it retains the desirable 1962 neck profile. It even includes its original hang tags, manual, price tag, and original screwdriver—everything is there!
This vintage hollow body guitar features a rare pair of “Patent Number” humbucking pickups. The pickups sound incredible — well-balanced, untouched, and completely factory stock. The original pickup covers remain undisturbed. The oval orange label is clean and intact, with the handwritten ES-335 TDC designation. The original custom plaque on the body confirms this was a special factory order.
The one-piece mahogany neck is paired with a bound rosewood fretboard featuring block inlays. The original frets have been dressed and show minimal wear, playing like new. Original Kluson single-line/double-ring tuners work perfectly and turn smoothly.
This ES-335 delivers rich harmonic overtones and exceptional expressiveness, a testament to why vintage Gibsons are so sought after. The high end is articulate without being harsh, allowing single-note runs to resonate with beautiful, cascading harmonics. The guitar has a natural bloom and compression that results in a balanced, robust voice — just a perfect example of the ES-335 everyone dreams of.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1963.
The pickups, electronics, and wiring are completely untouched and intact. There are no broken solder joints or rewound pickups—everything is original and correct.
Includes the original black Gibson hardshell case with yellowed lining. Latches and handle are in perfect working condition.
