1963 Gibson Hummingbird – Cherry Sunburst
We present an original 1963 Gibson Hummingbird in its original Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This vintage beauty delivers a powerful, rich sound — round and full with deep, rumbling bass. It offers impressive resonance and projection, with tonal warmth and clarity that only aged tonewoods can provide. The mahogany neck is straight and plays smoothly up and down the fretboard, free of any buzzing or playability issues. The Honduran mahogany back and sides are in excellent condition, with no cracks or signs of previous repairs. The grained spruce top features a small, professionally repaired crack near the pickguard.
Cosmetically, it shows only minor nicks, dings, and light play wear, along with some attractive vintage finish checking. The guitar is adorned with cream/antiqued binding on the top and back. It has a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with large, parallel pearloid inlays. A nickel strap button has been installed, and the guitar is equipped with an LR Baggs Element active pickup system for high-quality acoustic amplification.
Includes the original Gibson chipboard case, with all latches and the handle in perfect working order.
Repairs that has been done by a professional Luthier.
- New handmade rosewood bridge with bone saddle and newer end-pins.
