1964 Fender Princeton Amp 6G2 – Blackface
We present an original 1964 Fender Princeton amp – blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.
This Fender Princeton is a transition model, also known as the Tuxedo, featuring white knobs on a blackface panel, while still retaining the brownface 6G2 circuit. It features dual 6V6 tubes delivering 12 watts to the original Oxford CTS 10-inch speaker. The original speaker has been reconed, so it runs perfectly. Expect pure, sweet tone for days. Despite the lack of on-board reverb, this is a remarkably versatile vintage amplifier. We’ve tested it with a wide range of guitars, and it sounds fantastic with everything we’ve plugged in—though it truly shines with Fender single-coil pickups.
This amp is in near mint condition, with the tolex, faceplate, and grill cloth all in pristine shape. You’ll search far and wide for a cleaner vintage Fender Princeton than this one. But beyond the collector-grade condition, it’s the tone that makes this amp a true treasure.
The original tube chart is present and very clean, with crisp corners and a hand-inked serial number.
The amp is fully serviced and ready to play.
To keep it as original as possible, you’ll need a step-down transformer. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
