1964 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst
We present an all original and late 1964 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst. Made in Fullerton, California.
This pre-CBS Stratocaster has been played since 1964 and you can see it and definitely hear it. A lots of resonance in the body and neck. The weight is very good with great balance and the grey bottom pickups is balanced with a great tone of soul. Over the years it’s gotten a sizable amount of playing spots on the back and sides where paint has been chipped. Very nice chips + dings in the finish, that has given the guitar a great vibe and good looks. The 3-tone Sunburst finish is still strong with minor fading.
The neck has become good warm/played and tinted, with a beautiful curved veneer rosewood fretboard with side clay dots and pearloid dots on the front. (Totally common to see that in the end of 1964). The owner has written his name with a pen inside the tremolo cavity and in the pickup cavity. Overall the body and neck have no cracks or repair. Frets show minor denting so there are still a lot of life in them. Headstock is clean as it can be with “transition” deal that is intact. Double-line Kluson tuners are in perfect working order.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original Fender Black tolex Hardshell Case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
