1964 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst
We present an all original late 1964 Fender Stratocaster in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This pre-CBS Stratocaster has been played consistently since 1964 — and you can both see and hear it. The body and neck resonate beautifully, and the weight is well-balanced, offering excellent playability. The grey-bottom pickups deliver a soulful and balanced tone with great character. Over the years, the guitar has developed notable wear on the back and sides, with areas where the paint has chipped naturally. These authentic chips and dings add a beautiful vintage vibe and striking aesthetic. The 3-tone Sunburst finish remains vibrant with only minor fading.
The neck has aged beautifully, displaying a warm, played-in feel and a subtle tint. It features a stunning curved veneer rosewood fretboard with clay side dots and pearloid front dots — typical for late 1964. The original owner marked his name inside the tremolo cavity and pickup cavity using a pen. Both the body and neck are free from cracks or repairs. Frets show minimal wear, with plenty of life left. The headstock is impressively clean and retains the iconic “transition” logo. The original double-line Kluson tuners function flawlessly.
The pickups, electronics, and wiring are 100% original and untouched—no re-wound pickups or broken solder joints. All components are correct and factory-installed.
Includes the original Fender black Tolex hardshell case, with all latches and handle in perfect working condition.
