Description & Specifications

1964 Gibson J-45 – Cherry Sunburst

We present an all original 1964 Gibson J-45 in its original Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Condition

This Gibson J-45 is in great condition, aside from a few nicks and dings, light finish checking, and other minor cosmetic wear consistent with age. It features a spruce top with gorgeous mahogany back and sides, along with a straight mahogany neck and a beautiful rosewood fretboard.

The guitar remains structurally sound, with no repair cracks or any breaks to the body or neck. Simply a great-sounding and perfectly balanced flat-top. The original frets and nut have plenty of life left. It features the desirable 1-11/16″ nut width. The original Cherry Sunburst finish looks stunning and has not faded much over the years.

Originality

This stunning ’64 J-45 is 100% original throughout—just as it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1964. It comes with the original adjustable ceramic saddle, which sounds fantastic. It features the original Kluson Deluxe one-line 3-on-a-plate strip tuners with original white plastic buttons.

The truss rod works perfectly and has plenty of room for both tightening and loosening.

Comes complete with the original chipboard hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
