1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amplifier – Blackface

We present an original 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp –  Blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.

This Fender Deluxe Reverb delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp offers a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that serve as an ideal platform for effects pedals. It cascades into rich, lightly compressed crunch when the volume is pushed to 10. The reverb is lush, with a long and smooth decay.

The circuit is very original and has been serviced with new capacitors and resistors to ensure flawless operation. A new transformer has been installed for 230-volt compatibility, but the original Schumacher transformer is included. The original speaker is also in excellent condition and sounds fantastic.

The preamp is loaded with the full complement of original blue Ajax molded capacitors — an essential component in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean, featuring the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grill cloth. The tolex is in remarkable condition, with only minor wear on the bottom front edge of the enclosure. All original hardware is present, including chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and the raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows minimal wear, with bold graphics and stock witch-hat knobs.

This is a very original and well-preserved example of one of Fender’s most iconic Blackface amplifiers.

The original tube chart is also present, very clean, with crisp corners and a hand-inked serial number.
