1965 Fender Stratocaster – Lake Placid Blue
We present an all original 1965 Fender Stratocaster in its original Lake Placid Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This early 1965 Fender Stratocaster features classic pre-CBS ’64 appointments, including the coveted mint green pickguard. Overall, this Stratocaster is in excellent+ condition, showing only minimal nicks, dings, and light cosmetic wear consistent with careful use.
The original Lake Placid Blue finish retains a deep, vibrant hue with beautiful, natural finish checking throughout the body. A true standout piece that would enhance any high-end vintage guitar collection—but it was made to be played. The original frets and nut show plenty of life, and the neck has a very comfortable C-shape profile with a dark rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays.
The original double-line Kluson tuners are fully functional and hold tune perfectly. The grey-bottom pickups are well-balanced and sound exceptional, with a clear, articulate tone and low action. The headstock features the classic transition logo and is in immaculate condition.
It’s 100% original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1965.
Includes the original black tolex hardshell case, bridge cover, and tremolo arm.
The pickups, electronics, and wiring are completely untouched, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original. All correct.
