1965 Fender Vibro Champ Amp – Blackface
We present an original 1965 Fender Vibro Champ Amp – Blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.
This Fender amp is an early example, delivering five watts of pure Blackface Class A tube tone! A surprisingly loud amp featuring an 8″ Alnico speaker.
The Fender Vibro Champ offers just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before breaking into smooth overdrive. Its lush-sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and a wide range of speeds. The circuit is highly original, with stock Schumacher transformers. The preamp remains virtually untouched, featuring only a new capacitor and resistor. The tube chart is very clean and fully intact, marked with an “OG” code, indicating production in July 1965.
The original Oxford 8″ speaker is as clean as it gets. The frame shows virtually no wear, and while the speaker cone has a small repaired crack — a common issue — it performs excellently. This Fender Vibro Champ is a prime example of vintage Blackface tone, sure to appeal to discerning collectors and serious players alike.
The amp is fully serviced and ready to play.
To keep it as original as possible, a step-down transformer is required. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
