1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse – Sunburst
We present an all original 1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Overall, this Gibson Firebird is exceptional clean piece with other cosmetic wear. This model with 3 P-90’s was Gibson’s answer to the Stratocaster with tremolo. The body is a light weight one-piece mahogany with a standard glued-in neck. Strong 1-piece mahogany neck with beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. The vibrato tailpiece is in perfect working order with no issues.
The P-90’s are very balanced and deliver a very dynamic and nuanced tone, with the heft and midrange fullness that only comes with the combination. Tuners are intact and these tuners turn smoothly with their original buttons. The gold reflector knobs is in perfect working order with no issues. The serial number is very clean on the back of the headstock and tells late 1965. Overall the piece are so amazing and a super rare piece of history as well as a top collector piece and notch player!
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original hardshell case with black exterior and plush yellow interior. The original latches and handle are also intact.
