1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse – Sunburst

We present an all original 1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Condition

Overall, this Gibson Firebird is an exceptional clean piece with minor cosmetic wear and a few nicks and dings. No breaks or any repairs. The original sunburst finish is strong and has a beautiful glow to it. The original frets and nut are in very good shape with plenty of life left. The original white pickguard has shrunken a bit (which is common) but is overall pretty clean with some tiny cracks around the screws. The body is a light-weight one-piece mahogany body with a standard glued-in neck. Straight 1-piece mahogany neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. The vibrato tailpiece is in perfect working order with no issues.

Originality 

This incredible ’65 Firebird Non Reverse is 100% all original with no modifications – just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in late ’65. The 3x original P-90 pickups are very balanced and deliver a very dynamic and nuanced tone, with the heft and midrange fullness. Tuners are original and intact and turns smoothly. The gold reflector knobs are in perfect working order with no issues. The serial number is very clean on the back of the headstock and indicates late 1965.

Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes with its original hardshell case with black exterior and plush yellow interior. The original latches and handle are also intact.
