Description & Specifications

1965 Gibson SG Special – Cherry

We present an all original 1965 Gibson SG Special with Tremolo in Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This solid mahogany body features a one-piece mahogany neck and a dark rosewood fretboard with pearl dot position markers. Overall, this SG Special is in excellent condition, with only a few nicks, dings, cosmetic wear, and some light finish checking. The original frets have been dressed, but there is still plenty of life left in them.

It features Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with original white plastic oval buttons, black plastic bell-shaped knobs with white markings, and a factory-installed Tremolo tailpiece. This Gibson still has the sought-after 1-11/16″ nut width. The comfortable C-shaped neck is a joy to play. The original P-90 pickups sound fantastic and are well balanced.

It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1965.

The pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes with its original chipboard case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
