1965 Gibson Southern Jumbo – Cherry Sunburst
We present an original 1965 Gibson Southern Jumbo in its original Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This is a stunning square-shoulder Southern Jumbo in excellent condition. The mahogany body features particularly striking grain patterns, and the lacquer finish displays beautiful, natural checking throughout this classic dreadnought. In our opinion, the pickup system installed in this guitar is one of the best available. It’s equipped with a K&K system, which delivers exceptional sound quality.
The guitar features a dark rosewood fingerboard with excellent original frets. Three mother-of-pearl inlays on the fretboard have been replaced. The neck binding near the original nut shows minor shrinkage, which is quite common for vintage Gibsons. This Southern Jumbo features the traditional cream-black-cream binding on the top and single cream binding on the back and sides, all naturally aged. The original Kluson Deluxe tuners remain in great condition. The finish is 100% original with no touch-ups, overspray, or crack repairs to the body.
This vintage Gibson offers outstanding setup and playability. It also sounds fantastic, even with the original adjustable ceramic saddle.
Comes with a newer hardshell case.
