Description & Specifications

1966 Fender Jazzmaster – Blue Ice Metallic

We present an all original 1966 Fender Jazzmaster in its rare and original Blue Ice Metallic finish. Made in Fullerton, California.

This 1966 custom color Jazzmaster is an exceptional and historically significant piece — both a rare collector’s item and a top-tier player. Blue Ice Metallic is among the rarest custom colors Fender officially introduced in 1965, making this guitar an extraordinary find.

It’s 100% original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1966.

Condition
Cosmetically, the guitar displays authentic vintage wear, including some buckle rash on the back, along with various nicks and dings across the front and sides. There are a few areas of notable wear down to bare wood, as well as scattered scratches on the back. Over the decades, the original finish has gracefully aged to a unique greenish-grey hue. The neck profile and headstock face remain impressively clean.

The guitar features its original bridge cover and tremolo arm. While the bridge has been adjusted for improved intonation, the original bridge position already offered near-perfect tuning stability.

Playability & Tone
This Jazzmaster is powerful, resonant, and impressively versatile — everything you’d want in a vintage Fender. It boasts a strong, medium C-shaped neck profile with block inlays and binding for a smooth, comfortable feel.

Electronics:
The pickups, wiring, and electronics are 100% original, untouched, and fully intact. No solder joints have been broken, and the pickups have never been rewound. Every component is correct and as it left the factory in 1966.
