1966 Fender Precision Bass – Lake Placid Blue
We present an all original early 1966 Fender Precision Bass in its original Lake Placid Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
Overall, this Fender bass is in exceptionally clean condition, with only a few small nicks, finish checking, dings on the back, and other minor cosmetic wear. It’s classified as early 1966 because it retains all the 1965 specs. The only reason we date it to 1966 is the original factory pickup, dated January 14th, 1966. So, this bass left the Fullerton factory in 1966.
The neck is in fantastic shape, and the fingerboard features a beautifully dark veneer rosewood with pearl dots. The original frets and nut are in excellent condition, with plenty of life left. Comes complete with its original matching-number hang tag, bridge cover, and pickup cover.
This custom color has become extremely rare and is one of the most sought-after finishes among players and collectors. The playability is exceptional, and it’s extremely resonant. This Precision fully lives up to its “holy grail” status — with solid intonation and the feel you want in a bass. Outstanding tone and a huge, dark-sounding response.
it’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1966.
The pickup and electronics wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
