1966 Gibson Melody Maker D – Pelham Blue ( All Blue )
We present an all original 1966 Gibson Melody Maker D in its original Pelham Blue finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This 1966 Gibson Melody Maker D in Pelham Blue is very rare to find because it’s a full solid painted Gibson Melody Maker. That means even the neck is Pelham Blue. The normal production run was that Gibson only did color on the body with a natural clear coat finish on the mahogany neck. So very few were made in a full painted Pelham Blue finish.
It features 1-piece mahogany neck and 1-piece mahogany body that gives it a very fine big tone. The two single coil pickups are sensitive and well balanced. It’s in great shape with some nicks, dings, finish checking and other cosmetic wear. The original pickguard has turned yellow and has some wear. No breaks or any repairs! The original Pelham Blue finish is strong blue with minor fading and green spots over time. Overall, a great Gibson solid body electric guitar with full sized neck and scale length. Super nice playing and it looks beautiful in it’s rare Pelham Blue finish. The SG style Melody Maker has a comfortable big rounded neck with rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and a factory “Maestro” Tremolo tailpiece.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
Comes complete with its original Gibson chipboard case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
