1967 Fender Coronado II – Blue Ice Metallic
We present an all original 1967 Fender Coronado II in its original Blue Ice Metallic finish with matching headstock. Made in Fullerton, California.
Condition
This Fender custom color Blue Ice Metallic Coronado II is an earlier version with checkerboard binding. This gorgeous guitar is in fantastic shape with no cracks or breaks. The beautiful Blue Ice Metallic finish is still strong and hasn’t faded much over the years. It features a bound maple hollow body with bound f-holes. The maple neck is straight with some minor play wear, and it has a beautiful bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. The white pickguard is in excellent shape with no cracks. A stunning, clean example. The original frets are perfect and have plenty of life left in them.
Originality
This stunning and early ’67 Fender Coronado II is all original, just as it left the Fullerton factory back in 1967. It even comes with the original whammy bar. This example is extra desirable because it’s an early version featuring the checkerboard binding around the body and the fully chrome pickup covers with Fender logo. The two original DeArmond single-coil pickups are well-balanced and sound lovely. The six original Fender tuners turn smoothly. The original pickguard and knobs are all intact.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with a period-correct Victoria Luggage hardshell case. Latches are in perfect working order with a newer handle
