Description & Specifications

1967 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp – Blackface

We present an original 1967 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp – Blackface. Made in Fullerton, California.

This Fender Deluxe Reverb is a one-owner example with a highly original circuit that has been freshly serviced. It is equipped with fresh 6V6 power tubes and a mix of new and vintage preamp tubes.

This Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a staple in studios and on stages for decades. The amp produces a clear and dynamic sound, offering sparkling cleans that serve as an excellent platform for effects pedals. When pushed to volume 10, it cascades into a rich, lightly compressed crunch. The reverb is lush and features a long, natural decay.

The circuit remains very original. A new transformer has been added to allow operation at 230 volts, but the original Schumacher transformer is included. A few capacitors, resistors, and a potentiometer have been replaced to ensure perfect functionality.

The preamp is loaded with the full complement of original blue Ajax molded capacitors — a key component in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps. It has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms, and the smaller bypass and bias capacitors have been replaced for optimal performance. The CTS pots date to the 26th week of 1966, and the tube chart is intact with a “QD” date code, corresponding to April 1967. The original Oxford 12K5-6 speaker also dates to the 32nd week of 1966.

Cosmetically, the amp is very clean, featuring stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grill cloth. The tolex is remarkably well-preserved, with only minor wear on the bottom front edge of the enclosure. All original hardware is present, including chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and the raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate shows minimal wear, with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs.

This is a very original and well-preserved example of one of Fender’s most iconic Blackface amps, purchased from the original owner.

The original tube chart is also present and in excellent condition, with crisp corners and a hand-inked serial number.
