1968 Gibson ES-335 TDC – Cherry
We present an original 1968 Gibson ES-335 TDC in its original Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This Gibson ES-335 TDC is in super clean condition. It’s all original except for brand new frets. Otherwise, no breaks or any repairs. The stock “Patent Number” sticker humbuckers are powerful and articulate. The Gibson semi hollow maple body allows for the quick attack of this particular tone wood, and also an airy, warm quality. Acoustically, the tone is very authoritative and clear, and this quality translates well to the pickups. The neck has a profile which is unique to Gibson in that period, beginning as a fairly slender C neck at the nut and quickly growing in both depth and shoulder to a bigger neck.
The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlays. The headstock is clean and feature the original Kluson Deluxe double line/double ring tuning machines. The orange oval Gibson label has a clean text and a serial number which matches that imprinted serial number back of the headstock. The bridge is the original chrome Gibson Tune-o-Matic. Original black hat knobs, as well as the stock pickguard, switch tip and pickup covers.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Come with its original chipboard case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
