Description & Specifications

1968 Gibson SG Standard – Cherry

We present an all original 1968 Gibson SG Standard in Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This 1968 Gibson SG Standard features a one-piece, lightweight mahogany body with a one-piece mahogany neck that is a joy to play. The dark rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays adds a classic touch. The “PAT-Number Sticker” humbuckers sound fantastic and are well-balanced. Overall, this SG is in extremely clean condition with only minor playwear. No breaks or repairs!

The Cherry color is vibrant with no fading whatsoever. The chrome hardware is clean and as shiny as it gets. The “Batman” pickguard is flawless, with no cracks or repairs. The original “double ring” tuners are in excellent condition and turn smoothly. The factory Maestro tremolo tailpiece is also in great shape and fully functional.

It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1968.

The pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and completely intact—no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.

Comes complete with its original Gibson hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
