Description & Specifications

1969 Gibson SG Standard – Cherry

We present an all original 1969 Gibson SG Standard in Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Condition

Overall, this 1969 Gibson SG Standard is in excellent condition with only minor nicks, dings, and light playwear. The original frets are in great shape and have plenty of life left. The original Cherry finish looks stunning and has not faded significantly. The chrome hardware is clean and as shiny as it gets. The “Batman” pickguard is perfect, with no breaks or repairs. The original Gibson “double-ring” tuners are in excellent condition and function smoothly. The factory Maestro tremolo tailpiece is in great shape and fully operational. It even comes with its original Gibson hang tag. A stunning and clean example!

Originality

This early 1969 Gibson SG Standard is 100% original throughout — just as it left the Kalamazoo factory in 1969. One important detail about this SG is that it’s an early ’69 model with late-’68 features, such as a one-piece lightweight mahogany body, a one-piece mahogany neck, and 1968 pots. It features a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The two original “PAT Number” sticker humbuckers sound fantastic and are well balanced.

Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
