Description & Specifications

1970 Fender Mustang Bass – Competition Red

We present an all original 1970 Fender Mustang Bass in Competition Red with matching headstock. Made in Fullerton, California.

The 30-inch scale length offset Fender bass in Competition Red gives it an ultra-cool look and delivers an amazing sound with great vintage mojo tone. Features include a split single-coil pickup and a super nicely rounded B-shape maple neck with a beautiful rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. It comes with the rare Rosa/Purple pearloid pickguard and black finger rest. Very few were made with this Rosa/Purple pearloid pickguard, also called the reversed pickguard. Fender tuners with chrome oval buttons are in perfect working condition. String-thru bridge with four adjustable barrel saddles.

Overall, this 1970 Fender Mustang Bass has a truly one-of-a-kind appearance and a gorgeous vintage tone. The original frets are in perfect shape and have plenty of life left. It shows nicks, dings, and other cosmetic play wear. Everything remains structurally sound with no repairs.

It’s 100% original throughout – Just as it left the Fullerton factory back in 1970.

The pickup and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickup. All original and 100% correct.

Comes with its original Fender hardshell case. One latch and the handle are broken, but the case is still functional.
