1970 Gibson ES-150 D – Walnut
We present an all original 1970 Gibson ES-150 D in its original Walnut finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Gibson ES-150 D is similar in many ways to the popular ES-335 TD but features a thicker body front to back. This semi-hollow body guitar is constructed with a maple body and a mahogany neck. It was produced from 1969 to 1979.
Overall, this vintage Gibson guitar is in near-mint condition with only minor wear. The original Walnut finish has not faded and beautifully showcases the maple grain— there is almost no visible play wear. The original frets remain in excellent condition with plenty of life left.
It features two Gibson “Pat. Nr.” humbucker pickups, which are well balanced and sound fantastic in this guitar. There is a master volume control located on the lower cutaway. The laminated, double-cutaway maple body is paired with a mahogany neck without volute and a bound rosewood fretboard with block marker inlays. The 6 x Kluson/Gibson double-line tuners are in perfect condition and function flawlessly. All chrome hardware, including the original trapeze tailpiece, is like new. This is a stunning and clean semi-hollow body guitar with exceptional tone and playability.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1970.
The pickups and electronics/wiring are untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Gibson hardshell case. Latches work perfectly, though the handle has been replaced.
