Description & Specifications

1972 Fender Mustang Bass – Competition Burgundy

We present an all original 1972 Fender Mustang Bass in its original Competition Burgundy finish. Made in Fullerton, California.

The 30-inch scale length offset Fender bass in Competition Burgundy gives it an ultra-cool look, and it sounds amazing with great vintage mojo tone. Split single-coil pickup. Super nicely rounded B-shape maple neck with a beautiful rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. Fender tuners with chrome oval buttons in perfect working condition. String-thru bridge with four adjustable barrel saddles.

Overall, this 1972 Fender Mustang Bass in Competition Burgundy is super clean and looks like new. No fading on the original Burgundy finish. The neck and headstock are extremely clean. Only some green marks on the back from sitting in the case. The original frets are like new and it plays perfectly. Everything remains structurally sound with no cracks or repairs.

It’s 100% original throughout – Just as it left the Fullerton factory back in 1972.

Pickup and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickup. All original and 100% correct.

Comes with its original Fender hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
