1978 Gibson ES-355 TDSV – Wine Red
We present an all original 1978 Gibson ES-355 TDSV in its original Wine Red finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The ES-355 TDSV was Gibson’s top-of-the-line model in their 3-series lineup, loaded with gold hardware, stereo wiring, a Varitone switch, and a Lyre/Maestro vibrato. Overall, this vintage Gibson hollow-body guitar is in very good condition for its age. It shows nicks, dings, and other signs of cosmetic play wear. The original gold plating on the hardware has some faded spots.
The original frets are still in great condition with plenty of life left. It features a laminated, multi-bound double-cutaway maple body, a 3-piece mahogany neck, a bound ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays, a large multi-bound Custom headstock with split-diamond inlay, and a multi-bound brown tortoise pickguard. The guitar also includes the iconic Gibson Maestro tremolo tailpiece.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1977.
Pickups and electronics remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All components are original and correct.
It comes complete with its original black Gibson hardshell case with red lining. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
