1900 Martin 0-21
We present an original 1900 C.F. Martin 0-21. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
This flat-top Martin 0-21 features stunning rosewood back and sides, an Adirondack red spruce top, and a Cypress neck. This “single 0” size guitar is widely considered the beginning of the true parlor guitar era. Remarkably resonant with impressive volume for its compact body. The slotted peghead includes a rosewood overlay and newer brass tuners. The serial number is stamped on the top of the peghead, as well as on the guitar’s head block. On the back of the peghead, “C.F. Martin & Co. Nazareth, PA” is stamped at the top.
The guitar showcases the classic 1800s-style C.F. Martin diamond volute on the back of the peghead. The neck profile starts crisp and defined. It features an ebony fingerboard with original bar frets and small diamond inlays. The bridge pins are black with white dots, and it retains the original ebony endpin. There is an extra hole above the endpin where a screw-in endpin was once installed.
Overall, this 122-year-old flat-top is in excellent condition for its age. You’ll find typical nicks, dings, and cosmetic play wear. The red spruce top exhibits a dramatically wide grain pattern near the binding. The soundhole is adorned with a herringbone center ring and a 5-ply concentric circle rosette inside the herringbone. At the guitar’s butt, there is an ebony endwedge bordered in maple. An exceptional vintage acoustic guitar with a truly remarkable tone.
Comes with the original semi-hard case.
