1950 Gibson LG-2 – Sunburst
We present an original 1950 Gibson LG-2 in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Condition
Cosmetically, this vintage Gibson LG-2 from the golden era is in very good+ condition, showing honest playwear including nicks, dings, and general signs of use. Remarkably clean for a 1950 Gibson flattop, with no crack repairs. The body and neck display gorgeous finish checking throughout — this guitar has clearly been played and loved.
The back of the mahogany neck shows noticeable playwear where some of the finish has worn through. The neck features a chunky, rounded profile that feels substantial in hand. It has a Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, along with a dark rosewood fingerboard. The original sunburst finish remains rich and vibrant with minimal fading, giving the guitar a warm, glowing patina. This vintage flattop delivers a huge, resonant tone with a powerful voice — a truly exceptional guitar in both sound and feel.
Originality
This 1950 LG-2 is entirely original except for the replaced white tuner buttons — the tuning machines themselves are original, only the buttons have been changed. No other modifications or repairs have been made. It still retains the original frets and nut, both of which have plenty of life left.
Includes a non-original vintage hardshell case with all latches and handle in fully functional condition.
