1956 Gibson J-45 – Sunburst
We present an original 1956 Gibson J-45 in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
There truly is nothing like the tone of a vintage Gibson. This J-45 is a perfect example of why these guitars are so sought after. It delivers powerful, woody bass response and crisp, articulate trebles, all wrapped in the dry, open sound that defines classic Gibson acoustics. This slope-shouldered flat-top features scalloped bracing and a stunning spruce top. It plays beautifully with low action and excellent clarity all the way up the neck. The neck profile is a comfortable, slightly less full rounded shape. Everything about this guitar feels just right. Architecturally, it closely resembles the wartime Banner-logo J-45s.
The original finish displays beautiful checking, along with nicks, dings, and other signs of honest playwear. The bridge plate is also original.
The original frets and nut have plenty of life left. The pickguard has shrunk slightly, causing the common, superficial hairline crack next to the fretboard under the high E-string — strictly cosmetic.
Comes complete with its original chipboard case.
