Description & Specifications

1957 Fender Electric Mandolin – Blond

We present an all original 1957 Fender Electric Mandolin (Mandocaster) in its original Blond finish. Made in Fullerton, California.

History

This rare instrument is a true 1950s Fender collectible. The instrument also nicknamed Mandocaster was introduced in 1956 as Fender’s first electric mandolin, offering players the unmistakable Fender tone in a compact and highly collectible format. Production was extremely limited, making this model one of the most sought-after Fender rarities from the 1950s.

Condition

This Electric Mandolin is in excellent and clean condition, showing only minor nicks, dings, and light finish checking. The straight, one-piece flamed maple neck with well-preserved frets ensures superb playability. The original Blond finish is incredible and lovely transparent, so you’re able to see the beautiful ash wood grains underneath the finish. It has the distinctive “halo”-like Blond finish that almost looks like a blond burst. As commonly seen on these early models, the original plastic tuner tips have slightly shrunk but remain fully functional. Overall, the Electric mandolin plays and sounds superb, with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. Even includes the original bridge cover, the original 1957 sales receipt, original keys for the case and an old vintage strap.

Originality

This 1957 Fender Electric Mandolin is 100% original throughout, exactly as it left the Fullerton factory in 1957.

The pickup and electronic wiring are completely untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All components are original and 100% correct.

With its ultra unique design, beautifully figured ash body, and completely original components, it combines historical significance, playable vintage tone, and investment potential. A perfect choice for collectors and vintage Fender enthusiasts alike.

Comes with the original Fender tweed hardshell case that is in stunningly clean condition. Latches and handle in perfect working order.
