1957 Gibson Les Paul Standard – Goldtop Darkback
We present an all original 1957 Gibson Les Paul Standard – Goldtop Darkback. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Condition
This historical 1957 Gibson Les Paul standard Goldtop Darkback is in very good condition, but at the same time shows some fantastic honest wear and finish checking. Incredible MOJO! Lots of wear around the arm-rest where the finish has worn off down to the bare wood. The original frets and nut are still in good shape with a lot of life left. Features a 1-piece mahogany body with a maple top, as well as a one piece mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The 6x original Kluson deluxe tuners is in good condition and works perfect and turns smoothly. Important to notice that the weight is so incredible for this 1957 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop and that’s itself very rare to come across.
Originality
It is 100% all original just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1957. This Gibson Les Paul Standard is the holygrail with a rare pair of P.A.F “Patent Applied for” humbucking pickups that are totally undisturbed and factory stock. The pickups sound amazing and are perfect well-balanced. No modifications or any repairs. All the plastic parts including the pickup rings are original and are totally aged and melted together with rest of the guitar. It has the original stop-bar tailpiece as well as the tune-o-matic bridge. The plastic poker chip ( toggle switch washer ) is missing. It’s very fragile and break easily over time. We will leave it without, since a Goldtop looks so nice without it. This guitar has been played and loved for many years but at the same time well preserved in its original condition. Definitely ready for more years to come.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original brown hardshell case with pink interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order. The hardshell case has some old repair spots on the top and sides for stabilizing so it can be used.
