Description & Specifications

1958 Gibson J-50 – Natural

We present an original 1958 Gibson J-50 in its original Natural finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This vintage Gibson features a premium-grade spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, offering the classic tonewood combination for rich, balanced sound. It sports a solid, one-piece mahogany neck that plays effortlessly, and a beautifully dark rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The back and sides are in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. There are two small hairline cracks on the spruce top, located between the pickguard and high E-string. The back of the peghead shows light chipping. The body exhibits finish checking throughout, along with minor nicks and natural cosmetic playwear — typical for a well-loved instrument of this era.

Equipped with original Kluson Deluxe tuners and the original truss rod cover. Overall, this is a powerful-sounding vintage flat-top acoustic with outstanding tone and resonance.

Includes the original hardshell case. All latches and the handle are fully functional.

Repairs done by a professional Luthier:

  • New saddle.
  • Original bridge has been repaired and reglued.
  • New bridge pins are installed.
  • Strap button is installed on the neck heel.
