1961 Fender Champ Amplifier Tweed 5F1 – Narrow Panel
We present an original 1961 Fender Champ amplifier Tweed 5F1 – Narrow Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.
This vintage Champ features its original lacquered tweed covering and the revered 5F1 circuit. It doesn’t get much purer than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers remarkably dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that shifts from clean to fully saturated overdrive with just a twist of the single volume knob.
Overall, the Champ has been well cared for over the decades. It retains the original Oxford 8″ speaker, and the circuit has just been serviced with new capacitors and tubes. The speaker has been professionally reconed. The preamp still houses the original yellow Astron tone capacitors. Both transformers are original, and the chassis boasts an exceptionally clean chrome faceplate with all the original white silkscreen lettering intact.
Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed is in excellent condition. The tweed is uniformly aged and visually striking, with the original nailed-in feet and even the original leather handle still present. To keep it as original as possible, it comes with a step-down transformer, allowing it to run on 230 volts.
Freshly and fully serviced, and complete with a full vintage tube set – it is ready to be played.
