1961 Fender Jazzmaster – Sunburst
We present an all original 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This pre-CBS Fender Jazzmaster even comes complete with its original bridge cover, tremolo arm, and strap. It also includes a matching-number hang tag and the rare instruction manual.
Cosmetically, this guitar shows “buckle rash” on the back and nicks and dings on the front and sides, with a few spots of notable wear down to the bare wood and an assortment of small nicks and scratches on the back. The neck profile and headstock face are as clean as can be. This is an exceptional example of a pre-CBS Jazzmaster. The original black-bottom pickups are very balanced and strong, and sound incredibly good.
The guitar is powerful, resonant, and extremely versatile—everything you’d expect from a guitar produced during Fender’s golden age. Beautiful dark rosewood slab board with clay dots.
It’s 100% original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1961.
Comes complete with its original Fender brown hardshell case with orange interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
