1961 Fender Stratocaster – Blond
We present an all original 1961 Fender Stratocaster in its original Blond finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
History
This exceptional custom-color pre-CBS ’61 Fender Stratocaster is without a doubt a collector’s dream, having remained in a private collection for decades. It is unquestionably the cleanest and finest example on the market. This is the first time the guitar has been made publicly available for sale. It comes complete with a matching-number hangtag and all original case candy. If you’re looking for the absolute best slab-board Stratocaster from Fender’s golden age, this is the one. Opportunities to acquire a package like this are exceedingly rare.
Condition
Overall, this spectacular pre-CBS Strat is in excellent and clean condition, with no breaks or repairs—just a well-preserved piece of Fender history. The original custom-color Blond finish on the ash body is absolutely stunning. Not only does it look incredible, but it also plays beautifully. Very minor nicks, dings, and other cosmetic wear are present. It features a beautiful C-shaped maple neck with a fretboard made from incredibly figured slab-board rosewood—something rarely seen. The headstock and decal are also in remarkably clean condition.
Originality
This 1961 Fender Stratocaster is 100% original throughout — just as it left the Fullerton factory in 1961. It even comes complete with the original tremolo arm and bridge cover, as well as the original strap, polish cloth, and matching-number hangtag. Everything is intact. The three original black-bottom single-coil pickups are strong and well-balanced. The six original Kluson single-line tuners are fully functional and turn smoothly. An outstanding custom-color Stratocaster from Fender’s golden era.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—no broken solder joints, no rewound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
Comes with its original hardshell brown case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
