1962 Fender Deluxe Amp 6G3 – Brownface
We present an original 1962 Fender Deluxe Amp 6G3 – Brownface. Made in Fullerton, California.
This ’62 Deluxe was made at the beginning of the brief Brownface era and represents the perfect bridge between the warm, dynamic Tweed amps and the clear, chimey Blackface models introduced a few years later. Offering a versatile tonal palette — from rich, mellow tones to twangy, crystalline bite at the turn of a knob. The bias-based tremolo delivers a deep, throbbing effect with a smooth waveform and an almost three-dimensional tonal character, making it one of the finest examples of this classic Fender effect.
Cosmetically, the amp is in excellent condition, featuring the original brown tolex and wheat grille cloth. Original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are intact. The faceplate gleams, complete with all original brown barrel knobs, and the original tube chart remains fully present. Even comes complete with the original Victoria cover.
The 6G3 circuit has been carefully serviced with some new pots, resistors, and capacitors to ensure flawless performance. All the transformers are original and run perfect. The original Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact, with a strong frame and visible date code, preserving its authentic sound.
To keep it as original as possible, you’ll need a step-down transformer if you’re based in Europe. We have these in stock and they can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
