1964 Fender Stratocaster – Lake Placid Blue
We present an all original and 100% complete 1964 Fender Stratocaster in Lake Placid Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This rare pre-CBS Stratocaster is a piece of art and one of the most sought after Custom Colors to come across. Few pre-CBS instruments are considered to be the high watermark of Stratocaster tone in the 1960’s and this is definitely one of them.
Overall, this example is in excellent + condition, with extremely minor nicks, dings and other cosmetic play wear. The original Lake Placid Blue is still strong Blue with a little greenish fading. It also has some beautiful finish checking all over the body. It has been a treasured possession over the years in its original case. This beauty will complement any high-end collection, but it definitely deserves to be played.
The original frets and nut have a lot of life left. A very comfortable C-shape neck with beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. The original One-line-Kluson tuners are intact and works perfectly. The black bottom pickups are very balanced and sound incredibly good and the strings are nice and low. The headstock with spagetti logo and the neck are clean as it can be with minor wear.
The hardware is clean as it can be. The plastics show only the slightest hint of the passing of time, the guard showing signs of minor shrinkage and some slight discoloration on the pickup covers.
Comes with its original White tolex Hardshell Case, bridge cover, tremolo arm and guitar strap .
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
